Merry christmass and a happy new year

Merry christmass to you all. The semester has been a hectic one. There has been four months of studying and missing home. The semester started on a good note but somewhere along the line it was interrupted by a strike. Lecturers went on strike for almost three weeks. finally when they returned to lecture, they had to rush students through a lot of lessons. Initially it was difficult but we learnt to adjust and now have come to an end.Examination was delayed and I had to write my last papper on 23rd of December. we have only three weeks to stay at home but I'm determined to make the best of it. Meet my family, attend exmas parties and attend to SmartKids matters.

School is a bit boring since lectures have been halted. Lecturers have been on strike for three weeks now for Salary increment.This time, they want to see something in their accounts before resuming. This has affected studies and other activities on campus. Almost half of the student population have gone home.I have chosen to stay and use the opportunity to study my notes because no matter what, we shall write exams. It is also a good time for completing all my assignments and research proposals.Above all I can visit the beach for a good time of refreshing.This is my first semester in level 300 and my course load has reduced a bit. I now have enough time to study courses outside my program such as Data Analysis using SPSS. This course will be very useful to me in level 400 when I will have to do my project work. I think I can even earn money from it by analyzing data for other people so that I can get back what I am paying to learn.Gradually SmartKids Foundation is producing self supporting individuals. I am so much in love with the vision of the foundation because I strongly believe that education is the equalizer in any aspect of life.If the world wants to deal with poverty then it should consider education.

School just reopened and people are trying to register their causes for the semester.Long queues are seen everywhere on campus but I am not joining any.Why? I am resting and preparing to celebrate my birthday on 18th August.I will register afterward. SHARE IN MY HAPPINESS.

This vacation has been enjoyable. It has been full of activities.I started an attachment in a medical laboratory and i am enjoying the work. We also had the SmartKids Ghana annual meeting. It was a two day meeting.Beneficiaries of the SmartKids Foundation from all the ten regions of Ghana converged at Kumasi for this meeting. It was a great moment that we had with our colleagues and coordinators.

Upon returning to school after a relaxing vaccation with my mum, I realised that my department at school has undergone a drastic change that has increased the course load of students in the department.Normally one's credit hours reduce as one moves from a lower level to a higher level. Thus I should have been given 18 credit hours for this semester because I had 19 last semester.Instead,Iam now battling with 22 credit hours per week.This means I will not have enough time to visit the beach as much as I want for relaxation. However, I think I already found a suppliment to this, Learning to speak french.I registed with our school's Department of Languages to take a 3 credit hour beginners course in French. I think I'm already enjoying the lectures. I find it very refreshing sitting in class and repeating after a lecturer how to pronounce words correctly in French. The differnce between this lecture and my other courses is that,this time there is nothing like calculation and too much thinking that sometimes bring headache.Just say what you hear and do not think! The only problem is that I have started loosing weight since my body is always burning for studies, all the fat I gather.I cannot forgot about this years SmartKids selection which will start while we are in school. This is another 15 credit hour work for all adult SmartKids.This semester will be a fruitful one because all the activities will bear fruits.I will like to thank all SmartKids' donars for paying our bills once again for school.
