MERRY CHRISTMAS
Last semester was very stressful and full of activities. My academic calendar was so packed but I went through every bit of the time thinking of Christmas. It is the moment that I meet a lot of my family members. This holiday is of great importance to me since I was away from home during last holiday.
So far the celebrations have been joyous. I have not yet attended any party but have visited a lot of families who have been of great help to me over the years and met with old friends. There are still more people to visit and all of them are looking forward to that. I can perceive that my short stay at home will be fun. Aside the fun, Smartkids tasks for the season must be completed and so I will be joining my colleague smartkids to work. I hope to enjoy this season and have some rest in order to face my final semester in strength.

MY FINAL YEAR IN THE UNIVERSITY
In 2008 August I entered the university of Cape Coast to study Laboratory Technology. I had heard earlier that life in the university is easy and full of enjoyment but to my surprise, what i saw was the opposite. The pressure was unbearable but I quietly stood by. This semester marks the beginning of my final year in school and I just want to thank my God and all who have contributed to my rising up.
The semester is already about two months old and so all activities are ongoing. As part of my BSc degree requirements I am suppose to undertake a project work. In my department, this includes writing and defending the project proposal. I will be defending my proposal this semester so that if my project topic is accepted, I will go on with the project next semester.
My project will be in microbiology and I will be assessing some of the fruits sold in our markets. Hence anyone with any information on fruits can forward it to me. I hope to have the best of my final year.

long Vaccation
it was on TV that I saw floaded towns and communities. I never imagined how bad it was for the victims, niether did i think of having such an experience. I had the opportunity to live in the easten region of Ghana this long vac. I really had a good time for a while. The house in which i lived is close to a large park where i enjoyed staying for long hours. Some few meters from the park is a big river. Farmers could cross the river with canoes. I occationally joined the farmers in the canoes for fun and to make some pictures. last Sunday(24/7/2011)dawn the river flooded its bank and threw people out of their houses. I was not an exception. It was a sad experience. Many houses have collapsed and the occupants left homless. Aside the floods I had a good time this vaccation. I have had something to share with my friends back at school.

THE SKY WAS MY LIMIT
It is almost 2 months since school reopened and some quizzes (tests) have already gone down the drain. I have come to accept that quizzes are part of life (life in the university of Cape Coast). I think this semester is a bit flexible and so far I have had some time for myself. Last semester was a hectic one. My courses were loaded as usual but I decided to set some high targets for myself. There is a saying that ‘let the sky be your limit’ so I wrote an A on my time table beside each of the courses I was taking for the semester. I actually did 7 courses. One of them was a non scouring course but students are supposed to do it before graduating. The other six were departmental courses which also contribute to my CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average). Getting all As means a GPA (Grade Point Average) of 4.0. In the university of Cape Coast, one need 80% and above to make an A. I started working at it with all strength and good time management because I also had other important extra curricula activities. The best moments were when I sat at the seashore enjoying the breeze and watching the waves moving to and fro. It has always been a way of rewarding myself after a hard week’s work. The exams went on successfully and I left for the Christmas holiday. When school reopened I went to check on the notice board and I saw my first 3 As. The other 3 included microbiology and parasitology.
Most students do not like biology because the marking is very technical especially when it involves scientific names. After some weeks biology was posted and I had my 4th A. I said to myself ‘my dream has been achieved’ thinking that the last two are not very difficult. That same week the other 2 and the non scoring course were pasted and to my disappointment and surprise, I had 3 B+s. At the end I made 4 As and 3 B+s. That is a GPA of 3.8333. I was a bit disappointed but I consoled myself with the saying that ‘aim at the sky so that when you fall, you will land on the rooftop’. I think I have landed on the roof of a very high story building and so I can reach the sky next time I try.

School begins
School has just been reopened and I have reported to campus to prevent what happened to me last year. I actually lost 10 marks in my maths course for being absent during the first lecture. January is mainly for registration of courses. Serious lectures will start in February. I have seen few of my results and I am happy about them. For the first time, I am going to share my results with you on my next blog. You can imagine why I will do that. Everyone wants to show his/her best. So expert to see my results in my next blog. The semester is very loaded as shown by the number of hours per week that I will be having. I am going to do 23 credit hours of theory and practicals. I hope to do my best with my blogs too. In fact it was one of my new year resolutions. I hope to have fun this semester and be the best I can be.

Merry christmass and a happy new year
Merry christmass to you all. The semester has been a hectic one. There has been four months of studying and missing home. The semester started on a good note but somewhere along the line it was interrupted by a strike. Lecturers went on strike for almost three weeks. finally when they returned to lecture, they had to rush students through a lot of lessons. Initially it was difficult but we learnt to adjust and now have come to an end.Examination was delayed and I had to write my last papper on 23rd of December. we have only three weeks to stay at home but I'm determined to make the best of it. Meet my family, attend exmas parties and attend to SmartKids matters.
I want to wish all my readers a merry christmass and happy new year. May the new year bring you goodwill and blessings.

School is a bit boring since lectures have been halted. Lecturers have been on strike for three weeks now for Salary increment. This time, they want to see something in their accounts before resuming. This has affected studies and other activities on campus. Almost half of the student population have gone home.I have chosen to stay and use the opportunity to study my notes because no matter what, we shall write exams. It is also a good time for completing all my assignments and research proposals.Above all I can visit the beach for a good time of refreshing. This is my first semester in level 300 and my course load has reduced a bit. I now have enough time to study courses outside my program such as Data Analysis using SPSS. This course will be very useful to me in level 400 when I will have to do my project work. I think I can even earn money from it by analyzing data for other people so that I can get back what I am paying to learn.Gradually SmartKids Foundation is producing self supporting individuals. I am so much in love with the vision of the foundation because I strongly believe that education is the equalizer in any aspect of life.If the world wants to deal with poverty then it should consider education.
